“Assassins Creed: Black Flag” is the next installment of the Ubisoft series, “Assassins Creed.” Although the game is not the same as what fans are used to, it is still accepted as a great game.
In “Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag,” the player is a pirate named Edward Kenway, who sails the seas around the Caribbean Islands during the early 18th century and can pillage Spanish and English ships.
“Black Flag” is a completely interactive game. You can upgrade your ship, increase the firepower of the cannons, the durability of the hull, and the damage the explosions of the fire barrels make. Another upgradeable item is the whaling boat and harpoons.
“Black Flag” lets you go harpooning for blue whales, bull sharks, and great white sharks. It also allows you to hunt for game such as ocelots, crocs, and a plethora of others. The reason a player would want to hunt is to upgrade armor or get more pistol holsters. The game has fully customizable aspects, allowing for an almost realistic pirate adventure.
The realism only goes so far, such as attacking Spanish and English galleons to pillage loot and kill their deck hands. If you’re looking for a realistic pirate adventure, Somalia should be your destination. From a combative standpoint, the developers have made the actions of Edward Kenway feel more real. When he swings his sword to cut down a British Redcoat, you feel as if you are watching a real pirate kill his enemy.
“Assassins Creed: Black Flag” is a landmark game in the “Assassins Creed” series. It allows for a completely different experience in gaming, where the player can upgrade his ship, pillage and kill British Redcoats and Spanish privateers. Black Flag is a game that all future games in the series should model themselves after, whether they be about pirates or not.
