After Two Years Bruno Mars Raises the Bar and Comes Out with a New Album
Bruno Mars is back! After two years away from music, he released a new album with Anderson .Paak called, “An Evening with Silk Sonic, ” on November 12th 2021.
The first member of Silk Sonic is Peter Gene Hernandez, better known as Bruno Mars, who is known for his energetic stage performances since he entered the music world in 2004. The next member of Silk Sonic is Brandon Paak Anderson, better known by his stage name Anderson .Paak. He is an American rapper, singer, songwriter, record producer, and drummer. The two met when .Paak opened for Bruno Mars in 2017 at the European leg of the 24K Magic World Tour.
Mars has released several solo albums in the rhythm and blues and soul music genres. His highest charting album being Doo-Wops And Hooligans which is ranked number 3,087 in the overall greatest album chart with a total rank score of 488.
Silk Sonic’s new album features previously-released singles, including “Leave The Door Open,” “Skate,” and “Silk Sonic Intro.” The band has a retro 70s vibe, evident on their single, “Leave The Door Open.” They also feature a Rhythm & Blues funk sound not often heard these days.
The most popular song in this album is “Smokin Out the Window,” an R&B and Soul song written by Mars. The song is about exactly what it sounds like, wondering about their relationship status, smoking a cigarette, sitting by a window.
Personally, my two favorite albums by Mars are “24k Magic” and “Unorthodox Jukebox.” I think that nothing can compare to these two albums but I do believe that “An Evening with Silk Sonic” will be in my top three choices.
This album is very well developed, and I recommend it to anyone who loves an amazing performance or a retro vibe and an R&B funk.
