The sophomores at Southern Lehigh High School are narrowing down to the wire on their graduation projects which they will present on April 25, 2013.
“The graduation project is a year-long process of developing self-awareness and researching careers that work for you,” CTA teacher Mrs. Organski said. “The state of Pennsylvania currently requires the project which must include a presentation of findings.”
In the process, sophomore students completed a three to five page MLA career research paper, attended job shadows, took surveys, wrote a two to three page MLA reflection paper, and created a slide show presentation.
Mrs. Organski thinks that from doing the project, students learn more about themselves, and it opens their thoughts to their future.
“I learned that the career I always thought I wanted may not be the right one for me,” sophomore Samantha Kramer said.
The final step involves students presenting their findings to an audience of teachers who rate their presentations.
“I am nervous,” sophomore student Anna Esposito said. “I am nervous that I am going to mess up and everything won’t be perfect.”
