On Friday, September 28th, the Spartan Spirit Team held a pep rally in the gym at Southern Lehigh High School to pump up the students for the homecoming game that night.
It took a lot of planning, strategy, and decision making to make the pep rally a success. Senior Austin Rivera, pep rally co-host, explained that hosting the pep rally is not as easy as it seems.
“To prepare for the pep rally, I first found out what the schedule is from my lovely pep rally associates, I then meditated on this for three to six hours in complete isolation,” Rivera said. “Afterwards, I came up with games and activities, and I wrote the scripts.”
The pep rally also featured games, the homecoming court, and performances by the dance team and cheerleaders.
“My favorite part of the pep rally is to hear the audience laugh and interact,” Mr. David Dougherty, the Spartan Spirit Team adviser, said.
